Briquette Mould — Single Gang/Three Gang with Steel Base Plate
The Briquette Mould is used to cast figure-of-eight (briquette) shaped cement mortar specimens for tensile strength testing — an older but still-referenced method for assessing cement quality. The single-gang version casts one specimen at a time whereas in Three Gang ,three samples are casted and is supplied with a steel base plate for support during filling and demoulding. The mortar mix is packed into the mould, compacted, and cured before testing on a cement tensile testing machine, where the load at failure indicates the tensile strength of the cement.
For casting of cement briquettes for tensile strength tests. It is a two part split mould made of gun metal. Two thumb screws facilitate easy and quick assembling and dismantling of the mould. The minimum cross section of the briquettes cast is 25.4 mm x 25.4 mm. Supplied complete with a steel base plate.
