Bitumen Testing Equipment
Redwood Viscometer
The Redwood Viscometer is used to determine the viscosity of bituminous binders (cutback and liquid bitumen) and petroleum products by measuring the time taken for a fixed volume of the sample, maintained at a specified test temperature, to flow through a standard orifice under its own head. The result, expressed in Redwood seconds, is a widely used viscosity classification method, particularly in markets historically following British standards.
