Bulk Density — Cylindrical Metal Measures
Cylindrical Metal Measures are used to determine the bulk density and voids of aggregate, sand, and similar granular material. A known volume cylindrical container is filled with the material using a standard procedure (rodding or shoveling method), and the mass of material per unit volume is calculated to give the bulk density. This is an important parameter used in proportioning concrete mixes and assessing aggregate compaction and grading characteristics.
