Flash Point(Open) and Fire Point Cleveland
The Flash and Fire Point Apparatus (Cleveland Open Cup type) is used to determine the flash point (lowest temperature at which vapours from the heated sample momentarily ignite when exposed to a test flame) and the fire point (temperature at which the sample sustains burning for at least 5 seconds) of bitumen and petroleum products. The sample is heated in an open cup at a controlled rate, with a test flame periodically passed over the surface at specified temperature intervals until flash and fire points are observed.
For determining the flash & fire points of petroleum products except fuel oils and those products having an open cup flash below 175°F.It has a Cleveland flash-cup in brass with an insulated handle, a metal heating plate with a circular opening covered by asbestos board, an electric heater with energy regulator, and a gas test jet assembly. Suitable for operation on 220V, 50 Hz, Single Phase supply.
The equipment consist of the following:
Cleveland Flash Cup Brass, with an Insulated Handle. Gas Test-Jet Assembly Correctly positioned and pivoted from a cast cup platform which is fixed to a heating bath.Energy Regulator, To regulate the rate of rise in temperature 220 V, 50 Hz, Single Phase, AC Supply.
Thermometer IP 28 C, Range: -6°C to +110°C
