Ductility Testing Machine
The Ductility Testing Machine is used to determine the ductility of bitumen — a measure of its ability to stretch/elongate before breaking, which reflects its adhesive and cohesive properties. A briquette-shaped bitumen specimen, cast in a standard mould, is pulled apart at both ends at a constant, controlled speed in a water bath maintained at a specified temperature (typically 27°C), and the distance to which the specimen elongates before breaking is measured directly on a graduated scale. It is designed to test three specimens simultaneously. The machine consists of a carriage moving over a lead screw. An electric motor driven reduction gear unit ensures smooth constant speed and continuous operation. The entire assembly is mounted with water bath completely encased in metal bound hardwood. It is equipped with an electric pump circulator and heater. The temperature is controlled by digital temperature controller. Two rates of travel i.e. 5 cm/min and 1cm/min are provided. Suitable for operation on 220 V, 50 Hz, Single Phase, AC supply. Supplied with Ductility Mould with Base plate-4nos,
