Deval Attrition Testing Machine

This equipment is used for testing the Abrasion Value of aggregates. The machine consists of a rotating frame to support two hollow steel cylinder complete with tightly fitted steel covers and locking device. The inside dia of the cylinders is mounted on a shaft at an angle of 30º will the axis of rotation of the shaft. The shaft rotates at 30-33 rpm through a reduction gear operated by motor. The machine is supplied complete with one revolution counter. Inclusive of Abrasive charge consisting of a set of 12 hardened steel balls of 48mm dia

It consists of the following: –

i) Two hollow cast iron cylinders closed at one end and fitted with tightly fit-ting covers at the other and mounted on a shaft at an angle of 30° to the axis of the shaft. The cylinders are of 20 cm internal diameter and 34 cm deep.

ii) A shaft adjusted to rotate at 30-33 rpm by reduction gear mechanism operated by a motor.

iii) A revolution counter. Suitable for operation on 440 V, 50 Hz, 3 phase supply
