Tile Abrasion Testing Machine
The Tile Abrasion Testing Machine evaluates the surface wear resistance of glazed and unglazed ceramic tiles under controlled abrasive action, simulating the effects of foot traffic and surface wear over time. A tile specimen is subjected to rotating abrasive discs or an abrasive charge under load for a specified number of cycles, and the resulting wear/loss is assessed visually or by weight loss, depending on the test method. This helps manufacturers classify tiles by wear resistance grade for suitability in different flooring applications (residential, commercial, high-traffic areas).
It consists of the following :-
(i) A grinding disc furnished with a replaceable grinding path and rotating horizontally about its vertical axis.
(ii) A circular tray enclosing the grinding disc.
(iii) Holding device for test specimen.
(iv) Reduction gear coupled to a motor for operation on 220 v, 50 Hz, single phase supply electronic.
9v) Revolution counter. (Preset cumulative).
(vi) A 7.5 kg weight to apply 30 kg load on specimen through lever.
